Our students were very busy today. We surveyed two large neighborhoods in Cochrane seeking new prospects for the Vertical Church plant. While it was challenging and tiring, our students’ attitudes have been fantastic. Pastor Chris Ney was thrilled with the results of the survey work!
Because we had a beautiful weather day, and the rest of the week has rain in the forecast, we chose to present a second concert at the Gazebo in downtown Cochrane. Only a few people stopped by, but the students didn’t hold back – and it was a great time of preparation for the next few concerts, including the Alberta Children’s Hospital at 11 am in the morning. Be praying for us at 12 noon in Texas!
Some of our student athletes are participating in a sports outreach right now with some area children’s football teams. Pastor Chris works with this team every week in an effort to meet families and invite them to be a part of Vertical Church.
We are about to enjoy dinner together and, prayerfully, a restful evening before another busy day tomorrow serving with the Salvation Army in Calgary. We will be assisting them with their preparation for Vacation Bibke School and other important outreach events they are hosting during the Calgary Stampede in July. We are very impressed with the fervor and organization of the Salvation Army in Canada.
